True friends...

True friends are not hard to find...they are there just because...

You see, our boy was scheduled to be born on the 22nd...try telling that to Christian. Our little guy couldn't wait. A storm was coming and it wasn't Faye it was Christian. He was born a week early...the night before Tropical Storm Faye was due to hit Naples...there was no time to prepare for the storm. We had just moved our ornamental metal business back into the garage...what a mess! I had 1hr to throw all the lawn furniture, planters, trash cans, and miscellaneous items in the garage too...more of a mess.

Between spending precious time with my son and now planning his memorial service... There has been no time to get our lives back together...until Christian's many "uncles" from North Naples Fire Rescue came to our rescue. Our lawn was mowed on Friday before we got home...and today, in what would have taken me all week to complete, our garage was boxed, packed, and stowed in 45 minutes...ready to be a functional garage again. God bless true friends.
Thanks so much to my brothers at North Naples Fire Rescue,

Ryan

Ryan & Leah,
I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to met you both AND Christian. You have forever left an impact on my heart & soul. I am so happy for you to have the birthday you wanted for Christian, he is truly loved. He will always be with you.

This will be my second time leaving a comment on your blog. I keep coming back to check your page. Your family has been on my mind alot. I feel compelled if not pushed to do something because your story is so inspiring. I will never be able to imagine what you are going through. I have two children (2 1/2 and 5 months) and even imagining losing one of them brings me to tears immediately. Today when my son was dropping pieces of chocolate cake all over the kitchen floor, I was so frustrated but then I looked up and looked at a figurine that my husband got me and it reminded me of you and it made me put things in perspective. The figurine is a willow tree figurine with a mother holding her baby on her chest. Then I remembered the name of the figurine, "angel of mine." I thought, how appropriate. Maybe this if one of the ways the God intends for your son to impact the world in the short time he was here. I have put my name on the Trisomy 18 volunteer list and plan to donate to Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. You are in my prayers always.

Prayers continue for you and Leah as you prepare for the days ahead.
I cannot thank you enough for sharing your amazing son with all of us.

May God continue to bring you strength, peace and comfort. May He fill you with His tender mercies as you celebrate your precious son.

Thank you for sharing Christian's life. I just lost my little girl, Jenna Grace, to Trisomy 18 at nearly 21 weeks. We were devastated by the diagnosis. I've been blogging to help me, and it's nice to see others doing so, too.
