Oh Leah!

He is so precious!!! I love the little finger in the mouth. You are so gracious to share the beautiful photo (s) with us all.

Praying you feel our prayers, know we are shedding tears along with you for the loss of your sweet little boy.

Hoping the peace of the Lord surrounds you and Ryan and your entire family and that you take refuge under His wings.

A Pair of Shoes

I am wearing a pair of shoes.
They are ugly shoes.
Uncomfortable shoes.
I hate my shoes.

Each day I wear them, and each
day I wish I had another pair.

Some days my shoes hurt so bad
that I do not think I can take
another step.

Yet, I continue to wear them.

I get funny looks wearing these shoes.

I can tell in others eyes that they
are glad they are my shoes and not
theirs.

They never talk about my shoes.

To learn how awful my shoes are
might make them uncomfortable.

To truly understand these shoes
you must walk in them.

But, once you put them on, you can
never take them off.

I now realize that I am not the
only one who wears these shoes.

There are many pairs in this world.

Some women ache daily as they try
and walk in them.

Some have learned how to walk in
them so they don't hurt quite as much.

Some have worn the shoes so long that
days will go by before they think about
how much they hurt.

No woman deserves to wear these shoes.

Yet, because of these shoes I am a
stronger woman.

These shoes have given me the strength
to face anything.

They have made me who I am.

I will forever walk in the shoes of a
woman who has lost a child.

i was a foster mom for 35 years in Canada. I cared, loved and was very devoted to my kids. In December 1981 one of my little 4 month old foster sons went to live in heaven.
i cared for over 100 babies but will always remember my little Wayne.
He was only 4 months old when he died of a form of cancer. He fought so hard but I will never forget him. The night he passed and went with our God he was smiling and so excited with the blinking of the christmas tree.
The little time I cared for Wayne will be always in my mind and heart.
God Bless you and your family and always remember Christian was put on this earth for a short time but he was such a Blessing.
May God Bless your family.

Leah and Ryan - you are such an inspiration to so many as you travel through this endeavor of your lives. While reading your thoughts and feelings as you continue to 'make sense' of what has happend, we are truely touched by the strength and grace God has granted you both. I know this is a difficult path to travel in your lives, but I am confident that the Lord has even more blessings to share you with both in the future. Thank you for posting your journey and these beautiful photos with us - We love you both so dearly! Sincerely,
Susie & Steve Rodriguez
